ABOUT

I am a writer and artist who works with a range of media—from natural materials to fabric to traditional media, including ink, paint, and graphite. After studying art and visual communication, I spent time doing graphic design and production for businesses, teaching art, and working at a local education nonprofit. Now, I make art and develop stories for children. I live north of Boston and tend a large garden of edibles and native plants, which is a source of inspiration and often integrated with my work.

I received a degree in visual communication from The George Washington University and I have pursued additional studies, including a Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Art Education, at Massachusetts College of Art. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Greater Haverhill Arts Association, the Newburyport Art Association, the Abstract Artists of New England, the New England Experimental Artists Group, and the 12 x 12 Picture Book Challenge. I also serve as a Principal Master Gardener with the Massachusetts Master Gardener Association and a Book Buddy in my local community.
